The 4 main areas of the Muskingum County Department of Job & Family Services are:

Child Support Enforcement

This department seeks to provide financial security for the children of our community, by working towards the goal of establishment of paternity through the legal process, establishment and enforcement of child support orders and medical orders for the children of our community.

Opportunity Center

The Opportunity Center works to provide the universal population with employability assistance under the terms of the Workforce Investment Act. The main goal is to provide local employers with assistance in meeting their staffing needs as well as providing a system for job seekers to obtain the skills necessary to move into the workforce and on to a path of self-sufficiency.

Benefits Administration

The mission of the Benefit Administration Division is two fold. The Quality Performance side of the division serves and supports the agency by maximizing the quality of service delivered to the public by offering staff the opportunity to develop their skills to their highest level. The Adult Family and Adult Assistance side of the division provides cash, food and medical assistance to those families transitioning to self sufficiency as well as service to those individuals and families who have an elderly or disabled member in need of food, medical or skilled nursing care.

Social Services

The Social Services department serves the community by delivering child care services, adult social and protective services, conducting program investigations, issuing PRC (prevention, retention, and contingency) benefits, and maintaining the agency’s fiscal and physical infrastructure.
