Healthchek Program

Healthchek is a federal program that focuses primarily on preventative health issues. Eligible children under the age of twenty-one can receive a variety of services through this program. Covered Healthchek services include periodic screenings for vision, hearing, dental, behavioral health and rehabilitative services. Other services that are deemed medically necessary are also covered.

Muskingum County’s Healthchek staff dedicate much of their time to working with families to provide information regarding the program and opportunities to learn more about availability of comprehensive prenatal care including nutritional counseling and intervention. With the family's permission, they also assist in tracking well child examinations and immunizations. Provider relationships play a vital role in the Healthchek Program as well. Our staff coordinates care with providers and community agencies to be sure that the best possible care happens for the families in Muskingum County.
