Ohio Training Tax Credit Program

Tax credits offered by Ohio Training Tax Credit Program (O.T.T.C.) Aide employers in offsetting the cost of the additonal training that a company identifies as essential to keep people on the job and using new technology. The O.T.T.C. tax credit addresses many training costs including testing, training materials, travel expense, trainers and trainees (up to $100,000). Further information may be obtained by contacting the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Ohio’s corporations are encouraged to provide necessary training to those in the current Ohio workforce who are at risk of being displaced because of skill deficiencies or the inability to use new technologies. The O.T.T.C. tax credit is a non-refundable franchise tax credit. An eligible employee must be employed by a company in Ohio and have worked one hundred and eighty (180) consecutive days from their hire date and average thirty-five (35) hours of work per week.
