Skills Enhancement

From the information obtained through the skills assessment process, the Employment Services Staff at Muskingum County Department of Job and Family Services works with customers to meet the challenges of obtaining the necessary skills to successfully move into the job market.   One way to help people to develop skills is through Job Club at the Muskingum County Opportunity Center. This program facilitates resume development, dressing for employment, mock interviews, and other related topics. In the latter weeks of the program, prospective employers allow participants to come in and gain some actual work experience.  This program has met with much success in terms of permanent job placements.  Upon completion, individuals attend a graduation ceremony and many have been able to share successful employment outcomes.  We also operate a work experience program.  Many skills enhancement opportunities are available through Muskingum County Department of Job and Family Services and self-sufficiency plans are customized for each individual with the goal of securing self-sustaining employment in mind.
